Carrier Air Wing TWO

Squadrons

 

Strike Fighter Squadron TWO (VFA-2), the Bounty Hunters, is currently based in NAS Lemoore, California and proudly flies the Boeing F/A-18F Super Hornet as part of Airwing Two (CVW-2) on board the USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN (CVN-72).

 

Strike Figher Squadron ONE FIVE ONE (VFA-151), the Vigilantes, flies the Navy's newest Night Strike Fighter version of the F/A-18 Hornet. VFA-151 is based at NAS Lemoore, in Lemoore, CA.

Strike Fighter Squadron ONE THREE SEVEN (VFA-137), the Kestrels, is an F/A-18 Hornet squadron based at NAS Lemoore, in Lemoore, CA.

Strike Fighter Squadron THREE FOUR (VFA-34), the Blue Blasters, is one of four F/A-18 Hornet squadrons that comprise Carrier Air Wing TWO. VFA-34 is currently home based at NAS Oceana, VA.

 

VAQ-131, the Lancers, flies the venerable EA-6B Prowler.   Based on the A-6 Intruder, the EA-6B operates as an anti-radar, jamming platform.  VAQ-131 is based at NAS Whidbey Island, in Whidbey Island, WA.

VAW-116, the Sun Kings, is the Air Wing's airborne early warning squadron.  Performing airborne early warning and command/control missions, the E-2C Hawkeye is a twin-turboprop based out of Point Mugu NAS, in Point Magu, CA.

 

HS-2, the Golden Falcons, is CVW-2's helicopter squadron.  Performing a variety of combat search and rescue operations, as well as air transport and sea combat.  HS-2 flies the SH-60F/HH-60H and is based out of North Island NAS, in San Diego, CA.

HSL 47, the Saberhawks, is CVW-2’s SH-60B LAMPS (Light Airborne Multipurpose System) MK III helicopter squadron, performing antisubmarine and anti-surface missions. HSL 47 is based out of NAS North Island in San Diego, CA.

 

VRC-30 Det 2, the Providers, is the Air Wing's carrier onboard delivery detachment.  VRC-30 Det 2 provides air transport service to and from the carrier.  Flying the C-2 Greyhound, VRC-30 Det 2 is based out of North Island NAS, in San Diego, CA.
